Final project for my MA Game Art & Design course at the University of Hertfordshire.
A digital replication of one of my favourite London Pubs: The Blackfriar, build on a former monastery and outstanding in it's wedge shape and combination of art nouveau and arts and crafts decorations.
What a fun project to bring a real world place into a playable engine with industry standards.
The scene contains a fully automated day and night circle based on TrueSky, adapted to have the lights and the window illumination turn on when it turns dark. Both time of day at the start and speed of time are easily adjustable in the Blueprint.
While the days are friendly and warm, although pretty rainy most of the time, the sunset turns the scene into a typical gloomy and foggy London night.
Vertex Painting on the floor with a self-made 'dirty puddle' material eases the tiling and adds that london dirt flair.
Foliage from Lluis Garcia's Treeit library
